What is a Bad email? An email that is a fake email or Spam!! Among others…
The email that wants to trick you into clicking on a link that would subsequently cause you to install malware or other items that you did not mean to do.
But unfortunately there are also what is termed as Smish attacks (sms or Texts) that also try to get you to click on bad links.
Here is a Smish example by hackers trying to trick people into clicking on the link because their “toll” was not paid.

Notice the link has e-zpass.com but then also has -etcjr.xin (not .com) so it is obviously bad link.
Part of the problem is that real life ezpass is in multiple states there is a https://www.e-zpassiag.com/ link which has other text in the link besides e-zpass – plus adding a dash complicates the link which the hackers take advantage of by creating fake links with – included somewhere.
So you can see the real link is not the same as the fake link in the smish link (because it is a “.xin” link)
Here is part of the real ezpass website:

Notice it says (in red)
The E-ZPass Group itself does not hold customer accounts or collect tolls! We support the member agencies who directly support their own customers.
If you get a message from the E-ZPass Group claiming you owe for a toll it is a scam!
